One of the resources I use on the old interweeb is the web site of the venerable British mag ‘Sound on Sound’:
I had a subscription to the mag but I let it run out as I found i could get more info from their knowledge base as opposed to the mag. They mainly focus on computer recording and as I have an analog setup the mag seemed like a waste of cash.
Their website on the other hand is a wealth of knowledge and is easily searchable and as the magazine has been around for a long time they have a large amount of info that is relevant to any recording format. Plus, my favorite part is that they have a monthly feature which does an in-depth analysis of a historical recording - from the Staple Sisters’s Respect Yourself to New Order’s Blue Monday and everything in-between. I have wasted too many hours on their site…..
