New tech options in TO?

So a new search of the internet has turned up a few new possibility for my repair work for the Otari MX-70.

Rick Turcic of Ontario Audio/Video Service and Ike Zimbel of Zimbel Audio Productions.

Both are in the Toronto area.  Ontario Audio/Video offer a great estimate system (chargeable if you decline the work but non-chargeable if you do the work.  But, Ontario A/V don’t actually specialize in multi-tracks where as the other fellow is more special zed in studio related matters but doesn’t offer the same robust estimate system as he is a much smaller, specialized shop….

If I could only combine them all or get the beast down to Chicago economically.

My thoughts – take it first to the the Ontario A/V place. If it’s just a fuse or 2, you don’t need them to “specialize in multi-tracks” nearly as much. If it’s too big for their boots, they will know that from doing the estimate, and you can pay them for the estimate and time and then take it to the specialist for the big-boots, specialized repairs, for god knows how much money, but at least you’ll know it wasn’t something little that you could have had repaired for $5.00. And then find a hobby, such as, for example, “small stuffed animal surgical” repairs that doesn’t put you into the poor house but that gives great personal (and pooch) satisfaction. Hee hee.
